Appetite For Grief

There are people who have an appetite for grief;

pleasure is not strong enough and they crave pain.

They have mithridatic stomachs

which must be fed on poisoned bread,

natures so doomed that no prosperity

can sooth their ragged and dishevelled desolation.

~Ralph Waldo Emerson

    Yes, fantastic shot of a Marbled Orb Weaver. This time of year they start spending the day in the center of their webs.

    • Thanks.. I love photographing these guys but not running into them while mountain biking. Even though I know they aren’t much of a threat it makes me paranoid the rest of the ride wondering if it’s stuck on me somewhere. πŸ™‚
