Don’t Forget The Sky

A crooked old spine
With a cane in his hand
Is taking his shoes for a walk
He still marches in tune

From his days with the band
He listens to the mourning birds talk
There’s a knife in his back
That keeps the blood from running out

He says it’s been there for years
He laugh when he cries
He’s got a crooked old spine
He drinks a wine made of tears

Don’t forget the sky

This crooked old spine
Once had a love
Who moved the heavens above
He prays to the wind

Reaches under his skin
And offers his heart to the sun
There’s a knife in his back
That keeps the blood from running out

He says it’s been there for years
He’s waitin’ for the day
At the end of the night
When the sun burns away all his fears

Don’t forget the sky

    • Thanks! I did some sunrise shooting the other morning and I wasn’t completely satisfied with the way they looked but I liked some of them when I played around with colors and tones. I guess you could say this more towards the art side than a true to the eye photograph. 🙂 But I guess that is what it’s all about … trying to find what is pleasing to your own eye. Hope you have a great week and are enjoying this great weather!

It’s beautiful here too, though our trees are just beginning to show golds and reds. Have a wonderful week yourself!!

An artist should have the liberty to blend imagination and reality, don’t you think? I like your rendition very much!

      • I appreciate that. I’ve never had much of a knack at painting or drawing but with this kind of artistry I’m able to achieve somewhat of what I see in my mind’s eye with a little shade here and some light there. Overall I’m happy with the effect. It’s a learning experience and each time we take something with us into the next set of photos we work on. Stay safe and try to stay warm. 🙂

    I like it!

It almost has a Christmas card look. I think the trees in the foreground look ice covered.

    Nice work!

    • Thanks! That’s what I love with the creative part of photography.. thought I had a beautiful red/orange sunrise and ended up with a dark misty scene. Even though it’s not ‘as shot’ I enjoy the process of taking something that I wasn’t quite satisfied with and getting a pleasing result. Have a great week!

  3. I keep coming back to this one. Really beautiful. Love your art work.

    • Thank you! I was really happy with the final result. I wish I could say that I knew ahead of time what I was going for but for me a lot of times I have some photos that I tinker with and try different things until I stumble onto something that just really pleases my eye. I’m glad it did yours as well. 🙂 Stay safe and have a great week!
