Frugality is one of the most beautiful

and joyful words in the English language,

and yet one that we are culturally cut off

from understanding and enjoying.

The consumption society has made us feel

that happiness lies in having things,

and has failed to teach us the happiness

of not having things.

See, I do and don’t buy into this. I’ve been frugal most of my adult life and have definitely enjoyed that. On the other hand I ride a $4,000 bicycle, the polar opposite of frugal and riding that beautiful piece of carbon fiber and aluminum puts a smile on my face every time I clip in.

    • I get your point but I take it as an overall frugality mentality. I myself have 2 mountain bikes.. one well over 2000 now and the other not so much but in order to get those items I’ve been frugal in other aspects of my life. I probably guess that you do the same at times to get the best of what means a lot to you. 🙂 Ride on and stay safe!
